A Week in Verse: Recommendations.

Seeing as I, stupidly, only gave myself a week to do this feature I have missed out so many wonderful poetry collections and books in verse. So this post is all about them.

I’ve not read all of the following books but I have on good authority from my fellow-readers that they are amazing!

Cloud Busting by Malorie Blackman.

Under the Mesquite by Guadalupe Garcia McCall.

Orchards by Holly Thompson.

The Firefly Letters by Margarita Engle.

May B. by Caroline Starr Rose.

Lonesome Howl by Steven Herrick.

Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell.

Crank by Ellen Hopkins.

Don’t they all have gorgeous covers?! Just one more reason why you should pick them up…

For a longer list (and a few over-laps), the wonderful ladies at Gathering Books have come up with some brilliant recommendations.

I’m already planning my “A Week in Verse” Part Deux….

Gratuitous James Dean Picture.

Books: Making fit guys fitter since forever.
